Travel has always been more than just a vacation for us. It’s about discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, trying the local food, getting outside of our comfort zones, and collecting the kinds of memories that stay with you long after the trip is over.

We’re Jesus and Elaine, a husband-and-wife travel loving duo based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area of Texas. We’ve been married since May 2019, but our travel story started long before Aerglo Travel ever became an idea.

For me, Elaine, travel has been woven into my life from the beginning.

I was born in New Jersey, but at a very young age I moved back to the Caribbean, where my family is from. I spent my childhood between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico before eventually making Puerto Rico my home for more than 10 years.

Growing up surrounded by Caribbean culture meant beaches, food, music, family, and island life were simply part of everyday life. Maybe that’s why, to this day, if there’s one kind of travel we know particularly well, it’s how to be beach bums.

Eventually, life brought me to Fort Worth, Texas, where I went to school and later met my husband, Jesus.

By the time we got married, I had already spent several years traveling and exploring different places. Jesus, however, had a very different relationship with travel.

For many years, he had DACA and wasn’t able to freely leave the United States. So instead of waiting for international travel to become possible, we started exploring what was available to us.

So we traveled around the U.S.

We discovered beaches, mountains, cities, national parks, road trips, hidden gems, and places we probably never would have thought to visit otherwise.

Those years taught us something that still shapes the way we travel today: you don’t always have to go halfway around the world to find somewhere incredible.

Sometimes adventure is much closer than you think.

Then, in 2022, everything changed.

After living in the United States for more than 30 years, Jesus became a permanent resident.

For the first time in decades, international travel was truly possible for him. And there was only one place that made sense for our first trip.

Mexico.

It was more than a vacation. It was a return to where his story began.

After more than 30 years away, he was finally able to go back to Mexico, reconnect with family, experience the city again, and share that part of his life with me.

That trip meant more to us than we could ever fit into a few paragraphs and it deserves a story of its own. Mexico City will actually be one of the first destinations we share here on Aerglo, so there is definitely more to come.

But something happened after that trip.

We were hooked.

Not simply on traveling internationally, but on experiencing places more deeply.

We wanted to understand the culture. Eat where the locals eat. Learn the history. Find the beautiful places that don’t always make the first page of a travel guide. Take the scenic route. Spend an afternoon doing absolutely nothing on a beach. Try something we’ve never done before.

And most importantly, keep seeing how much of the world we still haven’t experienced.

Today, we call the Dallas–Fort Worth area home, which happens to put us near one of the largest and busiest airports in the world, a pretty convenient home base for two people who are constantly thinking about where to go next.

Over the years, we’ve traveled everywhere from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos, Mexico and Hawaii to Italy, Germany, London, the Pacific Northwest, national parks across the U.S., cruises through the Caribbean, and plenty of beaches in between.

And we’re nowhere near finished.

So, Why Aerglo Travel?

We created Aerglo because we realized we already had years of photos, videos, recommendations, lessons, mistakes, itineraries, favorite restaurants, unforgettable stays, and stories sitting in our camera rolls.

Why not turn all of that into something useful?

Aerglo Travel is our place to share the trips we actually take and the things we genuinely learn along the way.

You’ll find honest destination guides, itineraries, hotel and resort experiences, restaurant recommendations, travel tips, cruises, beach escapes, road trips, things we’d absolutely do again, and probably a few things we wouldn’t.

We don’t want this to be a collection of generic “Top 10 Things to Do” lists.

We want to tell you what the trip actually felt like.

What was worth the money.

What surprised us.

What we wish we had known.

What we would change next time.

And what we think you absolutely shouldn’t miss.

Because sometimes you come across a place that is simple yet unforgettable, and it makes you wonder:

How many other little pockets of heaven are still out there waiting to be discovered?

That’s what Aerglo is about.

Exploring further, experiencing more, and hopefully helping you plan a few unforgettable adventures of your own along the way.

Welcome to Aerglo Travel.

We’re glad you’re here.
